What is Get Set For Work?

Under the new government laws, young people under the age of 19 whom have not completed year 12, have to be either working or be in an alternative form of education to be eligible for Centrelink benefits.

This has created a need for GSFW programs that aim to create a transition pathway for them towards getting a job, returning to school, or continuing with other education or training.

Young people who successfully complete the program gain two credit points towards their Queensland Certificate of Education.

The Beenleigh PCYC has commenced an ongoing 10-week training program that has been offered to a maximum of fifteen young people at a time that they are genuinely interested in improving their skills which in turn increases their chances of gaining employment.
